Warisan, meaning heritage, is inspired by the timeless elegance of the traditional Peranakan kerongsang — the ornate brooch worn by Nyonya women to fasten their kebaya.
Traditionally worn as a set of three, the kerongsang consists of a larger central brooch known as the Ibu (mother), accompanied by two smaller brooches called the Anak (children). This arrangement symbolises harmony, family lineage, and the continuity of generations — reflecting the importance of heritage within Peranakan culture.
Drawing from this tradition, the design incorporates meaningful motifs often found in heritage jewellery:
• Peach — symbolising longevity, blessings, and prosperity
• Star — representing guidance, brilliance, and hope
• Circle — a symbol of unity, eternity, and continuity
Reimagined as a contemporary necklace and finished in warm gold tones, Warisan transforms a historic adornment into a modern piece of jewellery — honouring the beauty of Peranakan symbolism while making it wearable for today.
