Collection: The Nyonya Edit
Inspired by the rich cultural heritage of the Peranakan community, The Nyonya Edit celebrates the artistry and symbolism of traditional Baba-Nyonya adornment.
The Peranakans — descendants of early Chinese settlers who intermarried with local Malay communities in the Malay Archipelago centuries ago — developed a distinctive culture that blends Malay, Chinese, and regional influences. Within Nyonya attire, jewellery played an important role not only as decoration but also as a reflection of identity, elegance and family heritage.
Among the most recognisable elements of Nyonya dress is the kerongsang, a set of brooches traditionally worn to fasten the kebaya blouse. Worn in a trio known as the Ibu and Anak kerongsang, the arrangement symbolises harmony, lineage and the continuity of generations.
Reinterpreted through contemporary jewellery design and finished in warm gold tones, these pieces honour the elegance of Peranakan adornment while bringing its cultural story into modern everyday wear.
A collection inspired by heritage — created to be worn, cherished, and celebrated today.
